Election campaigning the religious way

When it comes to elections everybody accuses Indian politicians of dividing the community/ voters on religious and caste lines. But being in America at the crucial time when the run up to polls is happening I can’t help but notice that the same thing happens here in the advanced community of the new world.

I read this newsreport on Dallas Morning News titled “Big-name Democrats to speak at Baptist event in Atlanta”. According to the newsreport the organisers are trying to make it look like the Celebration of a New Baptist Covenant rather than a political one. The event has been organized by Mr. Jimmy Carter to bring together predominantly white and black Baptist groups that have little history of cooperation.

Mr. Carter said Wednesday that the idea is not to create another Baptist organization but to have members from more than 30 existing Baptist groups get to know one another, share ideas and make “permanent commitments” for collaborating on spreading the Gospel and doing good works. In short to plot, plan and execute propaganda against other religions such as Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism etc and then convert them into Christianity.

According to Mr. Carter the Atlanta meeting was to bring unity among together Baptists and not political. But then everybody in the world knows about the subtle way in which the Whites have plundered the world saying that their only aim is to do good to people.
