After talking about it for years, Tata Motors on Thursday finally unveiled its people’s car, Nano that meets Euro 4 emission and safety norms.
The car, popularly called the Rs one lakh car, will cost Rs 100,000 at the dealer end but would attract VAT and transportation cost.

Since we started the project four years back, there has been a steep increase in input cost, but a promise is a promise,
said Ratan Tata, chief of the Tata Group after unveiling the car. This event marks the achievement of the top business family’s pet project which had attracted lots of flak and criticism from media and automobile cricles.
Powered by a 624 cc, 33 BHP engine, the Nano is 8 percent smaller than the Maruti 800 and is available in three variants — standard and two deluxe models with AC.
Will this see a massive drop in motorcycle sales?? We will have to wait and watch.
